Refer to User-Records in the docs/ folder. Refer to Implications in the docs/ folder. Typically it's better to generate the API-key on the site and store it in a file somewhere to be used in your project. Also, be aware of the security risks involved in sending your API key through an unencrypted channel. If you do not have an API key generated, you will receive a failed login, even if the details are correct. name=USERNAME_HERE& password=PASSWORD_HERE The required form headers parameters look like this for logging in: If you don't know what they are, check out POSTing-to-e621 in the docs/ folder. You must supply these parameters in your form headers even if you are sending a GET request. Some API actions (Mostly POSTs) will require you to have an e621 account and log in through the API to complete actions as yourself. The resulting JSON will be encapsulated into a call to mycallbackfunction. To use JSONP, append &callback=mycallbackfunction to your request. Also, any additional parameters beyond the first must be separated with an &. Note: Parameters for GET requests must always use a ? to separate the URL from the parameters. This limits the response from e621 to 10 posts being returned. These change depending on the 'action' you are performing but the allow you to specify the type of data you are receiving from the API. Both JSON and XML are available but some endpoints are only available in one or the other. json part of the URL tells e621 that we want a JSON message returned, as opposed to XML. In this case the index action retrieves an index of posts.Īfter that, the. The next part of the URL index is considered the 'action'. Changing this to something like artist would make all artist endpoints available to us. If you've dealt with REST APIs before this should seem familiar, if not here's a breakdown: The base URL will always be, the next part of the URL post indicates the base endpoint we want to access. Any time you are retrieving data from the API you are using GET, any time your are giving the API information you are using POST.Į621 treats REST URLs as functions, so when you are GETting data, you pass your desired options after the base URL (separated by a ?). This is how you interact with the API, through REST URL endpoints. The e621 API uses the two main HTTP REST methods, GET and POST. #E621 sparkbox pdfPDF versions of these docs here if you need them to be portable if you want to get more information on any specific endpoint, look in the docs/ folder of this repo. This documentation is derived from the official API documentation but presented in a different and more in-depth manor.Īny general information will be available on this page. The official documentation is available here, but it does not go very in depth on GET/POST endpoints and how they differ. If you're here, you know what this site is for. This is a repository for a better set of documentation for the site e621. The simplicity of the API means you can write scripts using JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby, even shell languages like bash or tcsh." The ability to parse JSON or XML responses is nice, but not critical. All you need is a way to GET and POST to URLs. "e621 offers a simple API to make scripting easy. You can also login with HTTP Basic Auth, which should be used instead of putting the login parameters in the URL of GET requests. The login parameters are now login for your username and api_key for the API key. When removing favorites/votes/etc posts, DELETE is used instead of POST. #E621 sparkbox PatchWhen updating posts, PATCH is used instead of POST. The URLs, paths and returned fields have changed.
#Perfect layers stick math fullThe reason why you don't see the full circle is that the Earth gets in the way. But your eye can't distinguish the distances, all it sees is red light mingling together to form a circular arc that appears to be located somewhere in the distance. The rainbow comes from droplets that lie on the cone at different distances from your eye, some can be near and others can be far. You can try this by rolling a sheet of paper up into a cone shape and peering through the little hole at the tip. But when you look along the surface of a cone from its vertex, as your eye is doing, all you see is a circle. The droplets that light up red for you all lie on this cone: if they didn't, you wouldn't be catching their red rainbow ray. If you take all lines that emanate from your eye and make a angle with, what you get is a cone (see figure 9). This angle will of course be different for each frequency, or colour of light.īy staring hard at figure 4 you can convince yourself that the deviation is given by the formulaįigure 8: The deviated rainbow ray from your droplet makes a 42.52 degree angle with the line L. In other words, by what angle it is being turned as it is refracted, reflected and then refracted again (see figure 4). Using Snell’s law and the law of reflection (that the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection), we can work out by how much a ray is deviated in terms of the angle at which it first hits the droplet. Catching rainbow raysīut why do we see each of the colours forming a perfect circular arc? To understand the shape of the rainbow, think of light from the Sun as coming down in parallel rays and striking a particular water droplet in the air. It's these different refraction angles for the different frequencies of light that gives a rainbow its colours. (The result is rounded to two decimal places.) Violet light with a refractive index of 1.34 has Thus, if a light ray hits the droplet so that, then red light with a refractive index 1.33 has As air is very similar to a vacuum, the refractive index is very nearly equal to 1 for all frequencies. Here and are the angles shown in figure 3 and and are the refractive indices of air and water, respectively, for light with frequency. Snell’s law also tells us that the angle by which a ray is refracted is given by this equation: Since we’re assuming the droplet to be spherical, the normal in this case is just the extended radius of the droplet, connecting its centre to the point of incidence. The law says that the refracted ray of light lies in the plane formed by the incident ray and the normal at the point of incidence – the normal is the line that passes through the point where the ray hits the droplet and is perpendicular to the surface of the droplet. Just how much the light of different frequencies is bent when entering the droplet is described by Snell’s law. The angles α and β are related by Snell's law. (The refractive index also varies slightly with temperature, but we can ignore this here.)įigure 3: The diagram shows the cross-section of the water droplet containing the incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal. But this small variation is enough to split sunlight into the beautiful spectrum of colours we see in a rainbow. The refractive index barely changes as the frequency varies: is around 1.34 for the violet end of the spectrum and around 1.33 for the red end. A measure of the slowing-down of light with frequency is given by the refractive index Its value depends not only on the frequency but also on the medium the light is entering (in this case water, as indicated by the subscript ). This is because the atomic structure of water interacts differently with waves of different frequencies. However, its speed will change by an amount that depends on the frequency. As the ray of light passes into water, the frequency, and therefore colour, remains the same. When light from the Sun travels through a vacuum (and to a very good approximation through air) all frequencies travel at the same speed, roughly 300,000 km per second. Figure 2: Light of different frequencies is refracted by different amounts.
Walmart, on the other hand, offers watch batteries and watch repair kits, allowing consumers to change their own watch batteries. Thanks to Cloud b, I was sent this very owl to review. With a white noise machine like the Cloud b Nighty Night Owl Smart Sensor, a baby can be lulled to sleep with either 4 soothing sounds or 4 gentle melodies. What sleep deprived parent wouldn’t love that? White noise for babies can help a baby fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Many babies actually prefer some quiet background noise that white noise can offer, like the gentle hum of a vacuum cleaner or the trickle of water coming out of a faucet. We naturally try to keep things quiet around a baby, thinking that quiet will help him or her sleep, but often that’s not the case. Think about it: inside the womb, the baby is hearing every single function of your body, from the swooshing blood in your veins or the thump bump of your heartbeat, to the whoosh of air you breathe in or the movement of your digestive system. Why? A newborn is born into a relatively quiet environment after being in a very, very noisy one. White noise for babies can be beneficial for a baby’s sleep, especially when the baby is a newborn. I explain fully in a blog post,, but below are the key points. #MOZYPRO CONTACST PRO#I've reached the conclusion that Mozy Pro may be suitable for businesses without rapid restore requirements, but you will need to compensate for poor password controls, and Mozy Sync will meet only the most basic of needs. And they were too small and thin to compete with Box and Dropbox in the standalone market,” Byrne explained.I've been evaluating Mozy for business use over the last month. “Many of us hoped that these smaller niche players could provide pluggable services to other applications but in the end the big vendors just did that themselves. Tony Byrne, founder and principal analyst at the Real Story Group says that both of these deals are indicative of consolidation in the online storage space. “This deal provides Mozy customers scalable options for the future and gives Carbonite a broader base to which we offer our solutions,” Ali said in statement. Mohamad Ali, Carbonite CEO and president, sees this deal as a way to expand Carbonite’s family of products. You may recall that Dell purchased EMC in Oct 2015 for $67 billion. Mozy, a cloud backup service, which launched in 2005, was sold to EMC in 2007 for $76 million. Today’s acquisition comes on the heels of the sale of another early cloud company when Dell sold Mozy to Carbonite yesterday for $145 million. Adobe has a big stake in the creative market and providing solutions for creating and sharing the large files they produce. This could allow them to compete with Adobe, at least on the file sharing side. “The acquisition of Hightail underscores our commitment to delivering differentiated content solutions in the cloud that enable marketers and creative professionals to share, produce, and securely collaborate on digital content,” Barrenechea said in a statement. Barrenechea, who holds several titles at OpenText including vice chairman, CEO and CTO, says the addition of Hightail helps them meet yet another content management use case. Hightail still provides them that ability. #MOZYPRO CONTACST PROFESSIONAL#The company counts 5.5 million customers with a strong emphasis on that creative professional market in advertising and marketing, which often have hefty files to move around between teams and clients. They essentially rethought FTP and filled a niche, particularly for creative media workers,” Pelz-Sharpe told TechCrunch. “Hightail was one of the few - though it largely went unnoticed - that focused on that problem. It operates almost like a private equity play, buying up older companies and living off of the assets, while incorporating them into the OpenText family of products.Īlan Pelz-Sharpe, founder and principal analyst at Deep Analysis, says Hightail is still solving that edge problem of moving large files around the internet, which has remained a problem even in the age of cloud storage. OpenText is a highly acquisitive Canadian content management company. The company, which became Hightail in 2013, was sold to OpenText today for an undisclosed amount. YouSendIt tried to resolve that problem by providing a way to share large files in the days before the cloud became a thing. Email services limited attachment size because bandwidth and storage were both expensive and FTP required a certain level of technical acumen. Back in the early 2000s before Dropbox was a gleam in Drew Houston’s eye, sharing large files was a huge challenge. The thing is, when I click the photo, it tells me they cannot be located. #Provideoplayer deleted files still showing PcAfter deleting them from LR, they were completely gone - great! However, since re-importing all 174 them, only 124 exist in the folder and for some reason, pictures that I know I deleted from my PC are now back in LR. I then decided to remove all photos linked to Canada from LR and then re-import them. I deleted these photos and expected that this would fix it however they are still there. I followed the 'Show in Explorer' option and then discovered another, random Folder in my pictures called 2017 with random back ups of various photos, not limited to Canada. So I expected that these would now disappear from the collection on LR and I would need to then remove the 'residual' however these photos were all still there. I also have a Collection on LR called Canada and it also contained 300+ photos. I have 2 cards, one for RAW and one for JPEG (I only import RAW) and decided to save some space by deleting duplicates, squint photos, out of focus etc down to 174 photos in total in the Canada Folder. So I had 300+ photos on my camera, I imported these to a folder on my laptop ('Canada') and then imported to LR. I have been going through my back-end catalogue (if you will) deleting duplicates, crappy photos etc in order to create disk space but for some reason this is wreaking havoc with my LR. For now, though, I’m haulingĪround two extra pounds and a DVD drive I never use.Ĭamera. I’ve been experimenting with other solutions: keeping my main photo and video collections at home on an external drive, for example, and having only the latest on my laptop. I traffic in photos and videos I’d run out of space quickly on a 256-gig drive. With 750 gigs on the traditional hard drive on a MacBook Pro. The biggest one you can get in an Air is 256 gigabytes, compared But SSD’s are very expensive, and come in small capacities. Fewer moving parts, faster start-up, better battery life. The Air uses a chunk of memory, a solid-state drive (SSD) as its hard drive, rather than a physical, spinningĭisk. I’d love to get a MacBook Air, which is just as fast and far lighter and thinner. #Spark plugin for busycal windowsI also have a Windows desktop and laptop, and there’s an iMac in the kitchen for the kids, but the laptop is my main machine. That’s why, every couple of years, I write the following post: What Pogue Actually Bought. Imagine, in other words, if your job let you test and try every single brand ofĬamera, tablet, phone, laptop and GPS, which would you buy for you and your own family? If you could hold your finger down on that bar to explode it into sub-bars, “What do you own?” would be a pretty tall one. Columnist, David Pogue, keeps you on top of the industry in his free, weekly e-mail newsletter. It is excellent at dual extrusion but is terrible at rafts and supports. Makerware 2.4 was what I used before Flashprint existed. It also allows you to upload photos/images and create heightfields and even wrap them (cylinder/cone/cup). Flashprint's supports and rafts are as good as Simplif圓D. Flashprint is easily on par with Simplif圓D in terms of print quality and it is specifically designed for use with Flashforge printers. My slicer of choice is definitely Flashprint. I have a Flashforge so I use the x3g format. I'd still be interested in hearing from others about their experiences with other slicers. I have things set up pretty well now for my delta and am pretty happy. The latest version of Cura has added alot of control that was missing before, but it also means that if you are not using the Ultimaker printer you need to do tests to get all these new parameters right. I have also tried Craftware which looks not bad, but didn't throw the honycomb at it. I had also tried Kisslicer and Slic3r, both were aborted after 24 hours with no success. AD takes 20 minutes to load it and be ready to work.Ĭura slices it correctly in about 10 minutes. The model is a 3D honey comb that is hollowed out as an electronic housing. I use Cura, the reason being that 1.5 years ago when I was starting out I, of course, started out with a very complicated model and Cura was the only slicer I tested that ever successfully sliced it. Anyone care to comment on which slicer they use and why, advantages, disadvantages, etc. |
